TC 8.2 is concerned with packaged equipment which involves centrifugal
compressors, including those heat exchangers, drivers, controls and
accessories, which are specific to packaged centrifugal equipment. TC
8.2 is also concerned with the design and performance of centrifugal
compressors, steam turbines and gas turbines for use in refrigerating
applications.
Our members are a diverse group of industry, government, academia,
and end-user professionals offering different perspectives and a broad knowledge
base.
The Committee sponsors Research Projects, which are a way to extend technical
understanding in pursuit of advancing the technology.
Committee members provide valuable assistance in the writing and revision of
Handbook chapters related to Centrifugal Machines.
We often sponsor one or more Seminars at the Society National Meetings. This is a good opportunity to let others know what TC
8.2 is doing.
Finally, we are also involved with the writing and revision of standards.
Subcommittee meetings are where the action is, so don't miss them. They are a good way for TC members to become more closely involved with the activities of the committee.
